Location Recce

Hainault forest: allows there to be a mysterious vibes and fits the village style of setting we were trying to find to enhance the cultural side.

 

the trees and branches also help with the thriller side of our short film as it creates a tense and uncertainty of safe atmosphere where all the links and plot twists start because of the orb that will be shown when they zap into the transition of their everyday life. The orb will then be shown later on with the black candle. Which is where the links will start to happen between the audience and there thought process of trying to figure out who may be responsible for the entity that is released. 

it will help majorly with the filming as it is a public area. there will be no fee that will be charged, which allows the money to be spent elsewhere to develop the ideas and props further. 

there will be a chance to get a variety of lighting through scenes. if needed to be dark, it is available and open to go and film although it may not be safe which is where our editing skills come to the picture.

Throughout Hainault forest we have different types of scenery which helps with the different type of atmosphere we want to create. There are scenes where we want to have a happy, nice collage of the three sisters walking and hopping around and then we want to film a scene of when they are first in Hainault, the twigs crack and the orb sucks them in. 

This video shows the house we are mainly basing our short film in. Hainault is just as important but the house is where they realise that they have entered a house with what they culturally believe is dark magic and evil entering our world. 

this is where the confusion begins as we will show the normal part of the house until it gets to the front room with a broken circle in the living room floor with rose petals, black candle and many more interesting props that'll help us create the tension and enigma we want for the audience to get drawn in. 

the two locations together work the best in helping create the perfect supernatural comedy thriller that we have been planning and dreaming about. The contrast that we have created with both locations and finding it easily to change the vibes and atmosphere is what will help us produce it to its full capability. 

my fathers shop:

contrastingly, we have my fathers shop that would be used after working hours that we would have set the house cleaning into shop cleaning instead. 

we found in our focus group and interviewing people, along with the surveys that this wasn't the best option to have chosen. health and safety regulations, we would have to be very careful where to place the salt and props and ensure that we have cleaned and put everything back to how it was from the start. we would have used this as the shutters would have been down and would have made the back entrance look gloomy and mysterious as of the massive black gates we have at the back. we chose not to use this location as it didn't suit best and the majority ruled that Hainault and the house would look better and help intensify what we are trying to portray through this short film.
